Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to electrical design for data center projects, including one-line diagrams, grounding concepts, protection and coordination, and arc‑flash mitigation strategies.
- Develop and review electrical design packages for constructability, safety, reliability, and compliance with project requirements.
- Serve as a technical resource for advanced power architectures, including HVDC concepts, solid‑state transformers (SST), UPS systems, and busway/busduct solutions.
- Coordinate with internal teams, external engineers of record, contractors, utilities, and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) throughout design and construction phases.
- Review calculations, drawings, and specifications prepared by internal or external partners to ensure quality and consistency.
- Provide technical guidance and informal mentorship to junior and mid‑level engineers.
- Support proposals, client meetings, and technical workshops by contributing electrical system expertise.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards, including NEC, NFPA 70E, IEC, UL, and local regulations.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 6–10+ years of experience designing electrical systems for data centers, mission‑critical facilities, or large‑scale industrial/commercial projects.
- Strong working knowledge of medium‑ and high‑voltage power distribution, UPS systems, switch gear, grounding, and protection schemes.
- Experience with power system analysis and design tools such as ETAP, SKM, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to independently execute complex technical work and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex electrical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- PE license or LEED accreditation is not required, but relevant certifications or progress toward licensure are a plus.
- Experience supporting hyperscale or AI‑focused data center developments.
- Familiarity with utility interconnection processes, load studies, and substation coordination.
- Exposure to HVDC distribution, solid‑state transformers (SST), or next‑generation power architectures.
- Experience working with owners’ engineering teams, EPC firms, or colocation providers.
- Knowledge of international codes and standards (IEC, IEEE) for global project support.
- Prior involvement in construction administration, commissioning, or integrated systems testing (IST).
- Progress toward PE licensure or other professional engineering certifications.
