The Lead Engineer, Test Manufacturing accepts, transfers, installs, improves and maintains automatic test equipment and test programs that are used for product testing and design verification. They may also support the test development of the test equipment and processes to ensure robust and high quality test solutions and final products are realized. A PCB Test Engineer ensures printed circuit boards meet design, quality, and functionality standards before mass production by developing, implementing, and optimizing test procedures.

They create test fixtures, diagnose faults, and use tools like Oscilloscopes and ICT, making them essential for identifying failures in the manufacturing process.

• Support development of production test strategies based on product design specification
• Design and implement test strategies, including In-Circuit Testing (ICT), Functionality Testing, Boundary Scan, and Flying Probe
• Debug PCB failures using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and high voltage power supplies to identify root causes
• Improve PCB test coverage and manufacturing cycle times to enhance yields
• Create detailed test plans, reports, and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards
• Work with design teams to improve the testability of new PCB designs
• Develop test plans and requirements for customer products including hardware and software elements
• Lead the procurement, qualification, and installation support for manufacturing for a large customer
• Be accountable for the test process optimization with a focus on productivity improvements to cycle time and yield within a CFT or across a large equipment set serving multiple customers
• Provide project leadership, including management of suppliers for comprehensive test deployments (structural, functional, system, stress and final test applications) for a large customer
• Support sales process by providing support to the quoting process
• Work with Design to enhance solutions with feedback from product testability, test coverage, diagnosability, reparability, firmware/diagnostics and user experience
• Keep up to date with relevant industry knowledge and regulations
• Lead and drive complex problems related to product yield or test performance

• Project Management – Ability to manage and lead complex, multiple line engineering projects, create project/change management plans, and deliver within time and budget, and mitigate barriers
