Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) CAD Technician to join our team in Hopkins, MN. As a SUE CAD Technician, you will play a crucial role in the planning and design of underground utility projects. Your expertise in CAD software will be essential in creating accurate and detailed drawings, maps, and models that support our engineering teams and ensure the successful integration of utilities in various construction projects.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to gather data and understand project requirements.
- Utilize CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Micro Station) to create detailed drawings and schematics for underground utilities, including water, sewer, electrical, and telecommunications systems.
- Perform field surveys and assessments to collect utility location and condition data.
- Interpret utility design plans and provide recommendations to assess potential conflicts with existing utilities.
- Maintain and update project documentation, including drawings, reports, and project files.
- Assist in the preparation of bid documents and project specifications pertaining to underground utilities.
- Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards and regulations.
- Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology, CAD Design, or a related field.
- Proficiency in CAD software, particularly AutoCAD and/or Micro Station.
- Knowledge of subsurface utility engineering principles and practices.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Previous experience in utility design or SUE is a plus.
