Job Overview
The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation. The position is for an RF Engineer III to lead design, development, and testing of sophisticated RF systems for advanced aerospace and defense applications.
Responsibilities- Perform Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) analysis
- Compile an Electromagnetic Environmental Effects Integration Analysis Report (E3
IAR) - Compile an Electromagnetic Interference Control Plan (EMICP)
- Compile an Electromagnetic Interference Test Plan (EMITP)
- Compile an Electromagnetic Interference Test Report (EMITR)
- Support TEMPEST control plan and test plan creation
- Support High‑altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) analysis
- Perform Co‑site analysis
- Support MIL‑STD‑464 and MIL‑STD‑461 requirements allocations
- Assist in analysis of failure data, reports, and root‑cause analysis to identify and document issues
- Evaluate different approaches to failure analysis and select the most appropriate methods for effective resolution
- Recommend corrective and preventive actions based on data and analysis
- Must Have: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; 6+ years of experience in RF/E3 engineering or a related role; higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience; proficiency in RF/E3 design and testing techniques; basic understanding of engineering principles and practices, including various RF/E3 modeling, analysis techniques, and tools; experience working in multi‑disciplinary design & development teams.
- Preferred: Experience with advanced RF/E3 simulation tools; understanding of aerospace and defense industry standards; knowledge of industry standard RF principles as they apply to design, analysis, and test; experience performing RF analysis such as co‑site, E3 integration, link budgets, and antenna patterns; proficiency with analysis software applications such as ANSYS HFSS, ANSYS EMIT, ANSYS SAVANT/S +, CST, EMA3D EMC+ /Charge+, Python and MATLAB;
capability to develop substantiation documentation to demonstrate compliance to related requirements and industry standards; experience with RF test equipment such as Vector Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers and Signal Generators; knowledge of industry standard RF assemblies and component selection and technical specifications.
- Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to travel as required.
- Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to handle small components, tools, and equipment with precision.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, failure analysis reports, and computer screens accurately.
