Military Fellowship Program Overview
SNC's Military Fellowship Program partners with programs such as Skill Bridge and Hiring Our Heroes to provide fellowship opportunities to service members transitioning to the civilian workforce. These fellowships include up to six months of on‑the‑job industry training for eligible service members. During this time, participants gain valuable work experience in the civilian sector and build professional networks as they prepare for their transition to full‑time civilian work.
EligibilityThis fellowship is open only to individuals who are currently serving on active duty and are eligible to participate in the DoD Skill Bridge program.
Qualifications – Must Have- Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline
- 10 or more years of relevant experience (or higher education may substitute for experience)
- Practical knowledge of engineering principles and practices
- Understanding of computer‑aided engineering tools and finite‑element analysis (FEA)
- Experience working in multi‑disciplinary design and development teams
- Exposure to engineering simulation such as computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and thermal analysis using tools such as StarCCM or CFD++
- Understanding of aircraft external loads, performance, and stability and control
- Familiarity with wind tunnel and aircraft flight test
- Background in the aerospace and defense industry
- Understanding of system‑level static and dynamic modeling and simulation
- Exposure to aircraft stability principles and control system design and analysis
- Knowledge of industry‑standard aerospace principles, including parametric design, model‑based definition, and fundamentals of flight mechanics
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. citizenship is required. Non‑U.S. citizens are ineligible to obtain the necessary security clearance. The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF) handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process for industry applicants.
