Position Overview
Airborne RF Electronics Electrical Engineering Department seeks a Principal Production Support Electrical Engineer to work in Plano, TX. Responsibilities include collaborating with manufacturing, program operations, and other engineering disciplines to resolve production, testing, and integration challenges for the Advanced Airborne Sensor (AAS) program.
Key Responsibilities- Lead technical evaluations of hardware, categorize failure modes, and provide systematic resolutions in a timely manner.
- Effectively communicate hardware failure updates and technical findings with potential solutions to program leadership.
- Lead and execute improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and quality.
- Coordinate and facilitate critical team meetings to drive quick resolutions to complex problems to mitigate risk to schedule and increase cost.
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams and travel periodically (up to 25%) to manufacturing facilities, suppliers, or customer sites.
- In‑depth experience with Power, RF, and Digital Electronics applicable to Advanced Airborne Radars.
- Experience leading teams and coordinating engineering activities and technical investigations.
- Exposure to technically challenging radar processing hardware.
- Opportunity to present to program leaders and customers on technical topics.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related STEM discipline (e.g., Math, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mathematics).
- Minimum 8 years of experience in leading and supporting the production and/or testing of electrical subsystems in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience identifying hardware failure trends and leading RCCA investigations at the system, subsystem, WRA/LRU, module, or CCA levels.
- Experience with Earned Value Management methodology and Control Account Management (CAM).
- U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance.
- In‑depth technical knowledge of a product with frequent vendor technical support.
- Strong background in manufacturing engineering principles and practices.
- Experience with tools and systems such as PRISM, SAP, and CMES.
- Knowledge of compliance standards, including Raytheon Quality Notes, J‑STD‑001, and ISO 9001/AS‑9100.
- Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, including technical report writing and delivering presentations.
- Proven ability to analyze technical data to drive issue resolution.
Salary range: $107,500–$204,500 USD (good‑faith estimate).
