Electrical Engineer III – Design, development, and validation of electrical/electronic systems for aerospace and defense projects.

Responsibilities- Lead the design and development of electrical/electronic systems.
- In some applications, lead development of circuit card assemblies.
- Lead implementation of electrical wiring design practices.
- Oversee the testing and validation of electronic systems and components.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and debugging of electronic circuits.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including designs, test plans, and results.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives.
- Participate in and lead design reviews, providing expert technical insights.
- Mentor and train junior engineers, fostering technical growth.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 6+ years of experience in electrical engineering or a related role.
- Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
- Advanced proficiency in electrical/electronic design and validation techniques.
- Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
- Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools.
- Progressive experience working in multi‑disciplinary design and development teams.
- Exposure to electrical/electronic system federal rules and regulations, including Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) requirements.
- Exposure to electrical/electronic Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and System Safety Assessment (SSA) concepts.
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 10% of the time for business needs.
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Extensive experience with Computer‑Aided Design (CAD) software for electrical applications.
- Strong understanding of aerospace and defense industry standards and practices.
- Exposure to simulations through functional and logical models and system analysis.
- Experience composing an Electrical Load Analysis (ELA).
- Experience with circuit modeling, simulation, and analysis.
- Knowledge of industry‑standard electrical design principles, including model‑based definition, electrical component selection, manufacturing, and production processes.
- Familiarity with Electromagnetic Effects (EME), including Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI).
- Familiarity with design requirements related to High Intensity Radiated Field (HIRF) and Indirect Effects of Lightning (IEL).
- Experience in digital or analog circuit design and schematic capture.
- Understanding of the printed circuit board layout process and tools.
- Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to travel as required.
- Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment.
- Precision in designing, testing and troubleshooting electrical/electronic systems and components.
- Ability to analyze complex electrical/electronic systems and evaluate performance data to identify problems and improve designs.
- Applying systematic and logical problem‑solving techniques to diagnose and resolve electrical/electronic issues.
- Clearly convey technical information, design specifications, and project updates to team members, stakeholders, and management.
- Ability to understand technical documents, electrical/electronic schematics, and electronic instrument measurements.
- Ability to handle small components, tools, and equipment with precision.
Secret U.S. Security Clearance required. U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
