Position

Algorithm Systems Engineer II – Naval Airborne Systems (NAS), sub‑business unit within Naval Power. Located at Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities Center, Airborne Surveillance RF department. The role resides on‑site in Plano, TX and requires a U.S. citizen with a DoD Top Secret clearance.

• Perform performance analysis of complex systems.
• Develop and analyze algorithms for signal and image processing.
• Create trade studies and statistical models to support engineering decisions.
• Generate performance predictions and conduct data analysis using Raytheon Engineering processes.
• Participate in peer reviews and resolve identified technical problems.
• Collaborate with team lead, team members, and related engineers on a daily basis.
• Conduct or participate in customer and program presentations.
• Provide task progress status updates and deliver work products to the team lead.

• Master’s degree in STEM (e.g., Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics) obtained prior to start.
• Experience with signal‑processing or image‑processing algorithms/models, detection theory, machine learning, or related areas.
• Proficiency in UNIX/Linux environments and programming in C or C++; experience with MATLAB or Python for data analysis.
• Background in developing algorithms for airborne surveillance, digital communications, detection and estimation theory, or AI/ML training techniques.
• Experience with real‑time programming, software change‑management tools and processes.
• Current Department of the Army or Department of the Navy Secret or Top Secret clearance.

Salary range: $68,900

USD – $131,100

USD.
