Senior Project Manager – Civil/Municipal Engineering
This role manages and delivers municipal civil infrastructure projects while serving as a primary point of contact for municipal clients. The position contributes directly to expanding Tetra Tech’s municipal practice through project execution, client engagement, and business development.
Essential Job Functions- Lead and manage municipal civil infrastructure projects including roadway, bicycle/pedestrian, drainage, and water/wastewater improvements.
- Serve as the primary client liaison for municipal clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction.
- Scope projects, negotiate contracts, and oversee technical quality, budgets, and schedules.
- Provide QA/QC reviews and ensure compliance with engineering standards.
- Mentor project engineers and junior staff while promoting professional development.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver innovative municipal solutions.
- Track project performance, financial metrics, and utilization targets.
- Participate in business development activities and represent Tetra Tech at industry events.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas.
- 12+ years of progressive municipal infrastructure project experience.
- Strong relationships with city and county municipalities in North Texas.
- Proven experience managing roadway, drainage, water, and sanitary sewer projects.
- Skilled communicator with experience presenting to clients and public audiences.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and balance technical and client-facing responsibilities.
- TXDOT PS&E experience.
- Ability to work in both office and field settings as project needs dictate.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to walk on uneven terrain during site visits.
- Work performed in a combination of office and outdoor environments.
- Occasional exposure to weather, noise, and uneven terrain during fieldwork.
- Use of PPE may be required for certain site visits.
- Full-time position based in Plano or Dallas, TX, with local travel to client sites and meetings.
