About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior 5G IODT & Device Connectivity Engineer with strong experience in Qualcomm-based device ecosystems, wireless protocol analysis, and interoperability testing. In this role, you will be responsible for validating new 4G/5G features, performing detailed device and network log analysis, troubleshooting complex connectivity issues, and driving interoperability testing with chipset vendors and device partners.
The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience analyzing modem and protocol logs, understands wireless systems across multiple layers, and can effectively identify and communicate root causes of device and network performance issues.
Key Responsibilities- Execute Interoperability Development Testing (IODT) and feature validation with chipset vendors and device partners.
- Develop and execute system-level and performance test cases for 4G LTE and 5G .
- Perform detailed analysis of wireless protocol logs and device traces to identify root causes of failures and performance issues.
- Analyze connectivity, mobility, throughput, and call processing behavior across the wireless stack.
- Investigate device performance issues involving modem, network, operating system, and application interactions.
- Validate new product features and software releases in lab environments.
- Create test reports, technical documentation, and customer‑facing presentations.
- Collaborate with RAN, RF, software, device, and network engineering teams to drive issue resolution.
- Support customer engagements and provide technical expertise during product deployments and feature rollouts.
- Participate in troubleshooting, optimization, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.
- 8–10+ years of experience in wireless systems testing, device validation, interoperability testing, or network performance analysis.
- Strong understanding of LTE and 5G interface technologies and call processing procedures.
- Deep knowledge of wireless protocol layers including:
- PHY
- MAC
- RLC
- PDCP
- RRC
- Experience analyzing device, modem, and protocol logs to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Strong understanding of Radio Access Networks (RAN) and wireless network architecture.
- Experience with system testing, feature validation, troubleshooting, performance analysis, and test strategy development.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Hands‑on experience with Qualcomm-based devices and modem debugging.
- Experience with IODT/IOT testing and chipset partner engagements.
- Familiarity with ongoing 3
GPP Release features and standards. - Understanding of Core Network and RAN interactions.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, packet analysis, and transport‑layer troubleshooting.
- Experience with software development, scripting, or test automation.
- Understanding of hardware and software system architecture.
Experience with eMTC, NB‑IoT, S1, and X2 interfaces.
Candidates should have hands‑on experience with one or more of the following:
- QXDM
- QCAT
- XCAL
- Wireshark
- Signal Generators
