CAD Designer II (Contract-to-Hire)
We’re looking for a skilled CAD Designer II to join our team and help design innovative water and wastewater treatment systems. This is an excellent opportunity for an early‑career designer who can work independently while continuing to grow technical expertise and contribute to meaningful infrastructure projects.
What You’ll Do- Create accurate 3D models and fabrication drawings (skid GAs, frame drawings, ISO/spool drawings, layouts) using company CAD standards
- Design and model treatment skids (pump, filtration, piping systems, supports, etc.)
- Review P&IDs, drawings, and specs to understand project scope and requirements
- Deliver design work in both metric and imperial units
- Manage assigned tasks and meet project deadlines, flagging risks early
- Perform self-checks to ensure design accuracy and minimize rework
- Participate in design reviews and collaborate with designers and engineers
- Support junior designers through informal guidance and peer reviews when needed
- Follow ISO 9001:2015 quality and safety procedures
- Experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D and/or Advanced Steel
- Strong understanding of P&IDs, piping systems, and equipment layouts
- Ability to produce clear, buildable fabrication drawings with strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of skid fabrication and assembly practices
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Associate degree or technical diploma in Drafting, Mechanical Design, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2–5 years of experience in CAD design within industrial, process, or skid‑based environments
- Hands‑on fabrication or shop experience is a plus
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plano, TX.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
