Position: Mobile Device Failure Analysis Engineer (Korean Bilingual) AM7177518

Mobile Product Quality Engineer (Korean Bilingual)

Responsible, under minimal supervision, to provide technical analysis of mobile devices launched in North America, especially for product liability cases. Assist in the concept, development, preparation, and critical review of technical reports, documents, test procedures, user guides, installation, and maintenance manuals.

Responsibilities
  • Perform daily failure analysis of mobile devices related to product liability claims and safety using analytical equipment such as X‑ray/CT machine, digital microscope, and overheating test equipment.
  • Identify potential improvements to product design and repair serviceability constraints during reverse engineering analysis.
  • Provide detailed analysis and reports to R&D based on findings and collaborate with engineering to improve next‑generation repair productivity and product performance.
  • Communicate with management teams to investigate user environments causing defect symptoms and interface with Product Management to deliver product condition and specifications.
  • Share improvements and experiences in troubleshooting, failure analysis, diagnostics, and repair techniques with repair technicians and supervisors to enhance repair productivity and future designs.
  • Use relevant technologies (X‑ray, CT, SEM, EDS) to perform electronics testing and conduct scene and laboratory inspections outside the office.
Qualifications
  • English/Korean bilingual.
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics Engineering or Analytics.
  • At least three years of experience with selection, maintenance, and application of electronic and test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, X‑ray, CT, digital microscope.
  • Prior experience in the mobile industry preferred.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize in a complex working environment.
  • Comprehensive use of Microsoft Office applications in a Windows XP or NT LAN/WAN environment.
  • Ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with multiple levels within the company and with external contacts, including customers and authorized service agents.
  • Ability to influence others, provide technical clarification, and prepare critical technical reviews, reports, manuals, and test procedures.
  • Demonstrated English language competency in both oral and written communication for internal and external communications.
  • Capability to work with minimal supervision, solve complex problems, and manage multiple projects.
Work Environment
  • Work generally performed in an office, lab, or user environment.
  • May operate PC and test equipment between 50%–100% in an alternating sedentary and highly mobile position, lift, move, or adjust equipment, boxes, supplies, materials or products.
  • Requires high visual acuity, numeric/character distinction, moderate color distinction, and fine hand/finger dexterity for electronic component repair work.
  • First aid kit available and prescription safety glasses required in certain test areas.
  • May require additional hours beyond the normal schedule; travel varies depending on position.
