Job Description & How to Apply Below
We empower smarter business operations by connecting equipment, software, and services to protect, control and optimize assets within electrical infrastructures. The Lead Power Electronics Engineer will lead the design and development of next‑generation DC‑DC power conversion products for AI infrastructure, hyperscale data centers, telecom, and advanced computing applications, focusing on both high‑voltage and low‑voltage intermediate bus converter (IBC) modules.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design and development of advanced DC‑DC power converters, including high‑voltage intermediate bus converters and low‑voltage high‑current IBC modules.
- Define and optimize power architectures for efficiency, power density, thermal performance, reliability, EMI/EMC compliance, and fast transient response.
- Drive topology selection and optimization using simulation tools such as PSPICE, SIMPLIS, Simetrix, LTspice, and Ansys.
- Lead schematic development and guide high‑density PCB layout with emphasis on high‑current routing, parasitic reduction, thermal management, EMI mitigation, and manufacturability.
- Perform hands‑on prototype validation, debugging, characterization, and failure analysis.
- Collaborate with firmware, digital controls, magnetics, thermal, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust product execution and production readiness.
- Support existing product platforms through optimization, lifecycle management, and component alternate qualification.
- Mentor junior engineers, lead technical reviews, and contribute to innovation initiatives and intellectual property development.
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field (M.S. preferred).
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in power electronics hardware design.
- Proven experience developing isolated and non‑isolated DC‑DC converters.
- Strong experience with intermediate bus converter (IBC) architectures, high‑voltage DC bus systems, and low‑voltage high‑current power delivery.
- Experience designing 800V‑to‑48V and ±400V‑to‑48V converters, high‑current low‑voltage IBC modules, POL, and multiphase converters.
- Deep knowledge of LLC resonant converters, phase‑shifted full‑bridge topologies, and soft‑switching techniques.
- Experience with GaN and SiC power devices and high‑frequency power conversion.
- Strong understanding of magnetics design, high‑frequency transformer optimization, thermal management, and EMI/EMC mitigation.
- Familiarity with digital control loops, compensation techniques, and mixed‑signal power systems.
- Hands‑on lab expertise in high‑voltage testing, power converter validation, thermal characterization, and failure analysis.
- Proficiency with schematic capture, PCB layout guidance, and power electronics simulation tools.
- Strong technical leadership, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
