Associate Electrical Engineer

This individual will support the engineering team on Aligned’s technical topics and matters and will work directly with the internal and external design teams to ensure technical compliance. As a technical contributor, this individual will play a crucial role in a wide variety of responsibilities ranging from early-stage design direction, to validating installed conditions, to yearly site assessments, and evaluating next level technologies.

Working cross functionally, this individual will raise Aligned’s technical capabilities and enhance performance across multiple work streams.

• Design:
• Review and support for electrical technical standards and updates.
• Review and support for each phase of design deliverables.
• Assist content preparation and presentation to achieve business approvals.
• Support conceptual/directional design decisions at inception.
• Review and support for major equipment product commitments.
• Execution:
• Review and support for commissioning scripts and procedures.
• Review and support for critical MOP’s.
• Review and support for commissioning reports.
• Assist with technical investigations and problem solving.
• Reliability:
• Technical support for site performance shortfalls, failures, and issue resolution.
• Translate electrical concepts clearly to non-technical partners and across disciplines.
• Forward vision:
• Involvement within industry and vendor interaction to be aware of industry leading technologies.
• Collaborate with customer technical needs to ensure Aligned is aware and keeping pace with industry technical developments.
• Complete technical review and validation of new technologies.
• Technical understanding and evaluating sustainable practices.
• Grow understanding of National Electric Code requirements and industry best practices as it pertains to electrical engineering and design.
• Grow understanding of building code requirements and industry best practices at it pertains to electrical engineering and design.
• Communications:
• Participation in discussions, written and verbal, with Aligned team members.
• Individual should be able to communicate complex topics to work groups of varying technical experience.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in data center or mission critical electrical and mechanical design, construction and operations
• EIT certification or FE test plan required
• AutoCAD or Revit experience
• Experience with interpreting construction drawings and equipment specifications
• Ability to understand construction project scopes
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• May travel at times up to 25%
