Raytheon Development Support Electrical Engineer ; Onsite

Overview

Raytheon’s Airborne RF Electronics Department has an immediate need for a Development Support Electrical Engineer I. The role collaborates with the manufacturing facility, Program Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and other Engineering disciplines to proactively and efficiently resolve issues during design, testing, and integration. The position resides within the Cabin Production Design Support section supporting the Advanced Airborne Sensor (AAS) program. A security clearance is required.

• Troubleshoot hardware and issues to the circuit card assembly (CCA), server, switch, and/or component levels, including analog/digital/power circuitry and interfaces.
• Perform technical evaluations of hardware, categorize failures, and disposition failing hardware in a timely manner.
• Prioritize and execute improvement opportunities.
• Communicate status updates to program leadership.
• Partner in the development of test equipment and establish test requirements and procedures.
• Travel periodically to Raytheon facilities, suppliers, or customer sites to support in-person meetings and system integration (up to 25%).

• Fault isolation and troubleshooting from system to WRA/LRU/Sub-system level.
• Prototyping and understanding leading-edge technology in support of the program.
• Working in a dynamic environment and supporting hardware teams in preparation for formal design reviews.
• Gain experience with Digital Electronics applicable to Advanced Airborne Radars.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent STEM degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) obtained prior to start.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance within 1 year of employment; U.S. citizenship is required for clearance.
• Experience with analysis of technical data and schematic drawings to assist in troubleshooting; familiarity with standard engineering lab equipment.
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

• Knowledge of Linux, C, MATLAB, Python.
• Experience with fiber optic methodologies, standards, inspection criteria, equipment, and tools.
• Familiarity with hardware compliance of Raytheon Quality Notes, J-STD-001, ISO
  9001/AS9100 standards.
