About the Role:

We are seeking a talented and motivated R&D Electrical Engineer with expertise in low voltage (LV) and medium voltage (MV) power systems to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will drive the design, development, and testing of innovative power system solutions, contributing to the advancement of next-generation energy technologies. This role requires a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles, hands-on experience with LV/MV systems, and a passion for research and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Development:
    Design, simulate, and develop electrical systems and components for low voltage (up to 1kV) and medium voltage (1kV-38kV) applications, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC, UL).
  • Prototyping and Testing:
    Build and test prototypes of power system components, including transformers, switch gear, circuit breakers, and control systems, to validate performance and reliability.
  • Research and Innovation:
    Conduct research to explore new technologies, materials, and methodologies to improve efficiency, safety, and sustainability of LV/MV power systems.
  • Collaboration:

    Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software engineers, and product managers, to integrate electrical systems into broader product designs.
  • Documentation:
    Prepare technical reports, design specifications, and documentation to support product development, regulatory approvals, and intellectual property filings.
  • Standards and Compliance:
    Ensure all designs and processes adhere to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, including NEC, NEMA, and OSHA requirements.
  • Troubleshooting:
    Diagnose and resolve technical issues in power systems during development, testing, and field implementation phases.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or minimum of 8 years of qualified work experience may be substituted.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in R&D or design of low voltage and/or medium voltage power systems.
  • Strong background in control system design using Solid Works Electrical.
  • Proven track record in designing and testing electrical components such as transformers, switch gear, or power distribution systems.
  • Experience with power electronics, protection systems, and control systems is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of power system components, including circuit breakers, relays, and busbars.
  • Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC, UL, NEC).
  • Proficient in using CAD tools (Solid Works Electrical) for wiring schematics and panel layout design.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience with renewable energy integration (e.g., solar, wind, energy storage, microgrids) into LV/MV systems.
  • Familiarity with smart grid technologies or IoT applications in power systems.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
