MBA Consulting Services, Inc. (MBA CSi) is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Commercial Facility/Building Assessor to support the U.S. Postal Service's Facility Services Organization. In this high-impact role, you will be responsible for conducting on-site building assessments, estimating repair needs, and ensuring the integrity of facility condition data to support long-term capital and maintenance planning.
You'll play a key role in identifying and documenting critical facility issues—especially those that pose safety risks or contribute to structural deterioration—and support the development of a 5-year plan for Repair & Alteration (R&A) and Capital Projects. This position is based out of our Plano, TX office and requires up to 75% travel throughout the assigned region.
Responsibilities- Develop and manage inspection schedules aligned with USPS Facility Services Organization goals.
- Perform detailed building inspections in accordance with USPS protocols.
- Evaluate mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
- Calculate Current Replacement Value (CRV) and create Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) cost estimates for needed repairs.
- Identify and document maintenance issues beyond routine upkeep, especially those with life safety implications.
- Compile and validate Facility Condition Index (FCI) data.
- Upload inspection documentation, including photos and reports, into the Infrastructure Condition Assessment Module (ICAM).
- Conduct QA/QC reviews of assessments completed by USPS Plant and Small Facility teams.
- Ensure data accuracy to maintain the credibility of the deferred maintenance backlog.
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred
- Minimum 5 years' experience conducting facility inspections or related assessments
- Hands-on knowledge of MEP systems and general building infrastructure
- Strong organizational and data management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% within the region
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
