About the Role:

The Electrical Drafter supports the Applications design and documentation of power distribution products and integrated electrical systems, including control panels, panel boards, switch gear, skids, ePods, and other custom equipment packages.

This role works closely with Application Engineers to translate layouts, schematics, engineering markups, customer requirements, vendor information, and production feedback into accurate drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

Create, revise, and maintain electrical drawings using CAD tools such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Solid Works Electrical, or similar design platforms.
Develop and update one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, control schematics, interconnect drawings, cable schedules, device layouts, and related electrical documentation under engineering direction.
Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, customer specifications, vendor drawings, and engineering markups.
Convert design concepts, sketches, and engineer markups into complete, accurate, and manufacturable drawing packages.
Work closely with Applications Engineers to support design reviews, drawing standards, and design decisions.
Assist with develop of bills of materials (BOMs) for designed products, ensuring part numbers, quantities, device tags, ratings, and drawing references align with project requirements.
Support designs for control panels, panel boards, switch gear, switchboards, low-voltage distribution equipment, medium-voltage equipment, and auxiliary electrical systems as applicable.
Maintain drawing revisions, as released documentation, engineering change updates, and project drawing packages in accordance with internal standards.
Review drawings for accuracy, consistency, completeness, and alignment with submittal drawings requirements.

Qualifications:

Associate degree, technical certificate, drafting/design certificate, electrical technology background, or equivalent practical experience.
Minimum of 2 years of electrical CAD, electrical design, drafting, manufacturing design, industrial design, power distribution, automation, construction documentation, or similar experience.
Strong CAD skills. Experience with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and/or Solid Works Electrical is preferred; experience with other electrical or mechanical design tools will also be considered.
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, control schematics, and panel layouts.
Basic understanding of electrical components such as breakers, fuses, relays, contractors, CTs/PTs, terminal blocks, transformers, panel boards, control panels, ATS equipment, UPS equipment, and switch gear components.
