Summary

The Ash Group is hiring a Mechanical Engineer (24528) for our client, a high-tech aerospace and defense contractor delivering complex technology solutions for national security and space exploration. This is a 12-month contract position working in Plano, TX (Onsite). We are offering a pay rate up to $59 per hour W2 based on skill set.

  • Compensation: $59/hr W2
  • Benefits:

  • Duration: 12-months

Mechanical Engineer III responsible for designing heavy structural modifications for aerospace platforms, utilizing CAD and simulation tools. Works on the modernization of a polar mission capability for an LC130H airframe. Contributes to the full product lifecycle from concept to certification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research advanced mechanical solutions for aerospace missions
  • Design heavy structural modifications for LC130H airframe
  • Simulate structural performance with FEA and CFD
  • Interpret and apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams
  • Document design decisions and technical reports
  • Support certification and testing activities
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Must have 5-10 years as a Mechanical Engineer
  • Must have heavy structural mods, Solidworks/Catia, and must have CAD experience.
  • Must have aerospace experience
  • Familiarity working in multidisciplinary design and development teams
  • Strong understanding of overarching structural design
Preferred Skills
  • Understanding of applying and interpreting GD&T per ASME Y14.5
  • Experience in engineering simulation such as FEA, CFD, and thermal analysis
  • Background in aerospace and defense
  • Industry knowledge of mechanical design principles, including parametric design, model-based definition, material selection, manufacturing, and production processes
