Accounting Manager

Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team on a 2 month contract in Plano, Texas.  This is 100% onsite. In this role, you will oversee key financial reporting and accounting processes for a banking institution, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. This position requires strong expertise in regulatory reporting and a solid understanding of banking operations.

As a vital member of the team, you will collaborate with the Chief Accounting Officer to deliver timely and reliable financial information.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare accurate journal entries for the general ledger in compliance with banking-specific accounting standards.

- Reconcile various accounts monthly to ensure financial accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

- Assist in creating monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements while adhering to established deadlines.

- Support internal and external audits by compiling necessary documentation and addressing inquiries.

- Handle regulatory reporting requirements for state banking agencies, ensuring adherence to compliance standards.

- Analyze financial data and identify variances, providing detailed insights to management.

- Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely completion.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and verify financial data.

- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant banking regulations.

- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the accounting team.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- At least seven years of accounting experience, preferably within the banking or financial services sector.

- Proven expertise in public accounting, particularly for financial institutions.

- Familiarity with cash flow statements and regulatory reporting requirements.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (including vlookups and pivot tables), Word, and Outlook.

- Experience with accounting software such as Dynamics and Great Plains.

- Knowledge of Power BI, SQL, Power Pivot, and databases.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to a dynamic environment.
