The Director of Business Model & Commercialization sits at the intersection of product strategy, commercialization, and Finance
. Reporting to the CFO & VP of Byte, this role partners closely with Product, Finance, Sales, and Operations to shape how Byte’s SaaS products are priced, scaled, and monetized.
This role is ideal for candidates with a consulting background or experience in SaaS commercialization and FP&A who enjoy translating strategy into executable plans, owning product economics, and driving performance through data and cross-functional leadership.
Product Commercialization & Business Modeling- Partner with Product teams to define and commercialize short- and long-term product opportunities across the SaaS platform.
- Translate product strategy and roadmaps into clear financial plans, including investment requirements, ROI, and success metrics.
- Build, own, and actively manage product-level P&Ls, including targets for revenue, cost, and profitability.
- Establish financial guardrails to support decision-making on product prioritization, feature investment, and portfolio trade-offs.
- Maintain a strong understanding of SaaS cost structures and cost drivers to improve productivity, margin, and scalability.
- Drive cross-functional alignment to ensure commercial plans are executed and outcomes achieved.
- Partner on the development and evolution and harmonization of pricing strategies for the SaaS platform and individual products with Product Leads
- Standardize pricing models while allowing for thoughtful experimentation (e.g., tiers, usage-based pricing, bundles, incentives).
- Own short- and long-term revenue planning by product, including forecasts, targets, and scenario analysis.
- Partner with Finance/Controllership on invoicing processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with revenue plans.
- Develop business cases for customer-specific pricing and incentives, balancing growth objectives with profitability.
- Manage and develop a team of 2 direct reports, providing clear direction, coaching, and performance management.
- Build repeatable processes, tools, and governance for commercialization, pricing, and product P&L management.
- Serve as a trusted thought partner to the CFO / VP and senior leadership on growth strategy and financial performance.
- 6+ years of experience in management consulting, SaaS commercialization, product finance, or corporate strategy.
- Preference for candidates with a consulting background or hands-on experience in a Saa Sor technology environment.
- Demonstrated experience building and managing product-level financial models and P&Ls.
- Solid understanding of SaaS business models and metrics (ARR, churn, gross margin, operating leverage).
- Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
