Who we’re looking for

The primary responsibility of this role is to support the TFS Corporate Tax department in the preparation of the tax provision and federal, state and local income and information tax returns as well as other tax related projects for the TFS group.

Reporting to the Tax Manager, the person in this role will support the TFS Corporate Tax department's objective to assess, develop, and document tax positions reported on SEC filings/audited financial statements and income tax returns. The Senior Tax Analyst will be responsible for the entire life cycle of the income tax process for an assigned entity through application, compliance, and maintenance.

This individual will have the opportunity to be exposed to different tax concepts – Financial Institutions, Insurance Corporations, Banking, etc.

What you’ll be doing
  • Manage the lifecycle for the quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provisioning process, including completion of tax packages, preparation of tax provision to return true‑up, scrutiny of tax payables with preparation of roll‑forward schedules and review of quarterly financial forecasts.
  • Timely and accurately prepare federal, state, franchise and other tax returns/estimated tax in a paperless work environment.
  • Support tax projects as needed that will be related to taxing authority examinations, tax planning, income tax provision, tax returns, and process improvement.
  • Work effectively with cross‑functional teams, including accounting, finance, operations, and external tax advisors to resolve various issues.
  • Maintain knowledge and compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and their impact to the Toyota group of companies.
  • Compile and analyze information in response to taxing authority audit requests. Respond and follow‑up to tax notices.
  • Maintain supporting documentation and internal review to comply with SOX controls
What you bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • 3+ years of experience in corporate income tax.
  • Experience with Federal, State, and Local income tax returns.
  • Experience with Accounting for Income Taxes (ASC 740).
  • Proficiency in tax return and provision preparation.
  • Advanced experience using Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas, v‑lookups).
  • Experience applying tax rules to large sets of data, such as tax depreciation calculations.
  • Proven ability showing high attention to detail and accuracy.
Bonus if you have
  • Advanced degree in Accounting or Taxation.
  • 4+ years of work‑related experience.
  • CPA.
  • Big 4 public accounting firm or large public/private industry experience with financial services industry.
  • Corp Tax compliance and/or provision experience.
