Description
The Commercial Loan Participation & Syndication Specialist is responsible for processing all transactions for participated and syndicated loans in the Bank’s portfolio. This individual provides accurate, clear and timely notification to participant and syndicate banks. The Specialist books new, renewed, and modified participation and syndication loans in loan accounting software and acts as our primary contact and subject matter expert for bank employees and participant and syndicate bank employees.
Responsibilities- Serve as primary contact for participant and syndicate banks.
- Process monetary transactions as directed by lead banks.
- Process and notify participant and syndicate banks of disbursements, payments, and rate changes posting to loans within the required timeframe and manner of communication as outlined in loan documentation.
- Remit funds to participant and syndicate banks using bank wire software.
- Book all new and renewed participation and syndication loans in loan accounting software.
- Track and report SNIC loans.
- Create, update and maintain procedures and templates/forms for all tasks performed in this position.
- Assist with training additional team members to support this position.
- Assist with Commercial loan booking if/when the need and time/volumes permit.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of participation and syndication processing experience required.
- SNIC processing and reporting preferred.
- Demonstrated agency-side experience.
- Able to review and comprehend complex legal documentation and lead bank notices to translate to loan accounting system.
- Technical training in computer systems, banking applications and lending.
- Must possess exceptional detail and organizational skills.
- Mus possess excellent time management skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Able to work closely with all levels of bank employees to create productive working relationships.
- Must be able to work flexible hours.
Pay is dependent on knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and location.
Working ConditionsThe physical demands of this position require the ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Employees may spend extended periods sitting or standing, using hands to operate computers or other equipment, and reaching for work-related tasks. Regular walking may be required, along with occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, or climbing. The role may involve lifting or moving items weighing up to 10 pounds.
Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
