Late-Stage Collection Specialist

Overview

At Centra Funding, we’re looking for a motivated individual willing to learn the equipment finance industry. As a Late-Stage Collections Specialist, you will contact past due debtors and collect payments to get contracts current. In some scenarios, you will offer options and find solutions to mutually benefit our customers and Centra Funding.

This person must be able to work well as part of a team and act as an ambassador for Centra Funding. We’re looking for someone passionate about collections and who has relevant experience and skills.

• Collect past-due accounts over the phone, text, and email in a calm, professional manner.
• Build rapport with delinquent customers.
• Recognize situations requiring and executing skip tracing.
• Negotiate payment plans while demonstrating sensitivity in difficult situations and treating customers with respect.
• Maintain accurate records of account activity.
• Collaborate with team members to support department goals and share information on active cases.
• Make recommendations to management to minimize losses.
• Think critically and exercise independent judgment.

• Minimum 2+ years’ experience in Late-Stage or Post Charge-Off Collections.
• Strong skip-tracing background with ability to locate customers and collateral.
• Possess excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
• Thorough understanding of state and federal collections laws, including FDCPA.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Ability to thrive in an in-office role.
• 2+ years of college education preferred.
• Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to learn our CRM systems including Salesforce, Odessa, and others.
• Demonstrate personal excellence including punctuality, integrity, and accountability.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
