Employment Tax Practice Overview
Ryan is expanding its Employment Tax Practice in both Employment Tax Consulting and Recovery. The practice delivers compliance, appeals, and tax advisory services to assigned clients, maintaining relationships and focusing on employment tax management, minimization opportunities, and risk management.
Responsibilities- Develop client workplans and schedules for associated project deliverables.
- Prepare and conduct client presentations; review and reconcile client data to identify tax issues.
- Respond to client inquiries and requests from the IRS and state/local tax agencies.
- Serve as the principal contact for client activity when required.
- Work on all aspects of the appeal process (informal, formal, and litigation), and report status and results to the client.
- Assist clients with accruals, budgets, forecasts, billing, collections, and financial forecasting.
- Communicate new issues, legislative changes, training opportunities, and client needs and strategies.
- Develop new clients, maintain existing clients, and broaden practice scope.
- Manage and monitor all aspects of Employment Tax projects, including preparation, review, and processing of amended federal, state, and local tax returns and related correspondence.
- Maintain employment tax calendars and manage appeals.
- Work with management and staff to ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Taxation (Master’s preferred).
- Four to six years of employment tax related experience.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, and Internet research.
- Experience with Salesforce or Workday is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Enrolled Agent, Certified Public Accountant, Certified Payroll Professional, Certified Information Reporting Specialist, or intent to attain a designation within two years.
Standard indoor office environment with occasional long periods of sitting or standing. Position may require up to 50% independent travel for field inspections.
