Portfolio Manager

The Portfolio Manager (PM) is a client‑facing, investment‑centric role responsible for supporting the firm's Unified Managed Account (UMA) investment platform across three core functions:

  • Direct client and Wealth Advisor team support
  • Investment Policy Committee (IPC) research and platform development
  • Partner integration support
  • The PM serves as a key liaison between the Investment Policy Committee, Investment Management Team, and Credent Wealth Management, ensuring consistent implementation of the firm's investment philosophy, platform standards, and household allocation guidelines.

    Role Responsibilities
    • Direct client and Wealth Advisor team support:
      • Provide education to Wealth Advisors regarding CX Institutional's investment philosophy, investment platform, portfolio positioning, and economic/market views and outlooks.
      • Ensure consistent application of the firm's investment philosophy across household allocations.
      • Support Wealth Advisors with new client and wallet share proposals, platform implementation, and investment related client deliverables.
      • Participate in client meetings, as requested, to assist with portfolio positioning discussions, macroeconomic context, and investment strategy education.
      • Review household portfolios in advance of client goal reviews to ensure alignment with IPC-approved allocations, risk parameters, and investment guidelines.
      • Assist with ongoing household allocation monitoring, tax‑aware implementation, investment‑related transactions, and internal audit support.
    • Investment Policy Committee (IPC) research and platform development:
      • Analyze macroeconomic trends, market data, and research provider output to inform tactical portfolio adjustments, strategic long‑term themes, and platform enhancements.
      • Collaborate with the Chief Investment Officer, the Senior Portfolio Manager, and investment analysts to evaluate opportunities for investment platform innovation and core process improvements.
      • Contribute to IPC discussions and provide recommendations grounded in research and analysis.
      • Serve as the medium between IPC and Wealth Advisors regarding best practices for implementation of CX Institutional's investment platform.
      • Contribute to ongoing thought leadership.
    • Partner integration support:
      • Serve as an investment platform subject matter expert in partner integration and business development efforts, including presenting and explaining the investment platform to prospective advisors.
      • Work with investment & research analysts to lead or support investment mapping, portfolio transitions, and tax management conversations for newly onboarded advisors.
      • Coordinate with investment & research analysts to ensure efficient, accurate, and scalable transitions onto the investment platform.
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Strong understanding of financial markets, portfolio construction, asset allocation, and risk management.
    • Demonstrated ability to perform both quantitative and qualitative investment analysis.
    • Strong portfolio management and implementation skills.
    • Effective client and advisor-facing communication skills, with the ability to translate complex investment concepts into clear, actionable insights.
    • Proven ability to collaborate across functions, including investment, wealth management, and business development teams.
    • Self‑driven, adaptable, detail‑oriented, and capable of creative problem‑solving in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
    Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field.
    • CFA designation required.
    • 5 + years of professional experience in investment research, asset management, investment operations, compliance, or a similar role.
