As a Vice President in the Banks & Broker Dealers team, you will manage and oversee credit risk exposure across a diverse portfolio of financial institutions, including banks, broker dealers, and fintech clients. You will use your analytical expertise and industry knowledge to evaluate creditworthiness, support transaction execution, and provide ongoing risk monitoring. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex credit initiatives, collaborate across business lines, and contribute to strategic decision‑making while mentoring junior team members.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage credit exposure for a portfolio of North American banks, broker dealers, fintechs, credit unions, and other financial institutions.
  • Lead due diligence and evaluate credit requests across a range of products and risk exposures.
  • Assess and assign risk grades while performing ongoing monitoring of client credit profiles.
  • Execute and oversee transactions, including credit analysis, approval materials, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with bankers, lawyers, finance, and operations to support credit decision‑making.
  • Monitor market, regulatory, and industry developments affecting financial institutions.
  • Evaluate financial statements and perform in‑depth credit analysis to inform decisions.
  • Manage intraday liquidity facilities and market‑related credit exposures (derivatives, trading, financing).
  • Lead discussions with stakeholders regarding credit strategy and client risk positioning.
  • Mentor and develop junior credit officers to enhance team capabilities.
  • Drive process improvements and contribute to key risk and operational initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in financial services, including investment banking or similar environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in credit risk and/or market risk.
  • Strong knowledge of financial institutions and related products.
  • Proficiency in financial statement analysis and accounting principles.
  • Solid understanding of corporate finance and market dynamics.
  • Experience negotiating loan and trading documentation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a client‑focused mindset.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple transactions and priorities simultaneously.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with sound credit judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with banks, broker dealers, or other financial institutions.
  • Familiarity with derivatives, trading products, and structured finance transactions.
  • Prior experience managing a diverse credit portfolio.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team‑development experience.
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks impacting financial institutions.
  • Track record of contributing to process improvements or strategic initiatives.
