Senior SOX Analyst (Plano, TX)
Ampcus Inc. is a certified global provider of technology and business consulting services. Ampcus is seeking a highly motivated candidate to join our team as a Senior SOX Analyst.
Location6565 Headquarters Drive, Plano, TX, 75024 – onsite/hybrid, local candidates only.
Employment Details- Type:
Full‑time, 6‑month contract - Hours:
8:00–17:00 CDT, 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week - Backfill position
- Execute the annual SOX audit.
- Facilitate assessment of control effectiveness for business units and implement or modify controls to mitigate risk.
- Assist process owners with documentation of processes, controls, process flows, and data flows.
- Identify risks and design controls in collaboration with process owners.
- Plan and coordinate SOX walkthroughs and testing performed by Internal and External Audit.
- Coordinate with departmental SOX liaisons to ensure process consistency, consolidate status, and identify items for escalation.
- Meet with process owners to understand business processes and changes impacting control environment.
- Provide support for key SOX stakeholders (process owners, Internal Audit, External Audit, and senior management).
- Oversee document repository and ensure adherence to retention policies.
- Support the quarterly sub‑certification process.
- Lead efforts to research testing exceptions and identify deficiencies.
- Perform root‑cause analysis with process owners to identify the source of deficiencies.
- Coordinate and lead remediation efforts for respective business units; develop action plans and monitor progress.
- Prepare deficiency reporting for upper management and include analysis of potential financial impact.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve control design and mitigate risk of fraud, human error, and other deficiencies.
- Ensure ongoing communication with process owners for key SOX deliverables and support the operational continuity of controls.
- Assist or lead special projects with financial reporting impact.
- Serve as subject‑matter expert for financial reporting risks and controls.
- Four‑Year College Degree (BA or BS) – Accounting, Finance, or Business with an audit background.
- 5–10 years of relevant work experience in internal controls and compliance with SOX.
- Familiarity with Audit, Sarbanes‑Oxley, COSO, GRC methodologies, and frameworks.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills, initiative, and ability to multi‑task.
- Ability to develop strong partnerships, influence people, and work collaboratively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams) and Lucid (or other process‑flow software).
- Attention to detail and ability to provide accurate data.
- Ability to work in a deadline‑driven environment.
- Advanced degree (Master of Accounting / MBA).
- CPA, CIA, or CFE designation.
- Experience in the financial services, banking, or automotive industry.
- Experience with Archer Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) software.
