About the role
As a Finance Intern you will gain hands-on experience with financial analysis, planning and reporting in a professional environment. The intern position is responsible for assigned finance projects and may rotate among the various Finance Organizations in a fast-paced team environment. The internship will have a hybrid work arrangement and will be required to join us at the Support Center in Plano, Texas on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays each week.
A Final presentation to senior leadership (topic TBD) will be required at the end of internship. Our goal is to provide you with an opportunity to grow your skills while providing a meaningful impact to SBH. This is a hybrid role reporting into the Support Center at Legacy West in Plano Texas.
- Each finance intern will partner with an experienced finance leader who will serve as a mentor to guide how we conduct business and how tasks are completed.
- Communicates with business partners and key stakeholders throughout the organization as needed to complete assigned tasks
- Interns will be assigned several projects giving exposure to different areas of corporate finance and operational support including segment financial analysis, P&L evaluation, close support for operational business partners, financial process documentation and KPI reporting
- Specific projects can include process mapping to discover opportunities for efficiency, building financial models to support analysis and/or forecasting efforts, or comparing financial performance of key categories and brands
- Partners with project manager in specific finance area to complete each assigned project
- Each intern will give an end-of-summer presentation to SBH executives on one of their projects
- Pursuing a major in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Software, particularly Excel and Power Point
- Some knowledge or education in General Ledger software (e.g., Oracle, SAP) is a plus
- Excellent Communication skills both written and verbal
- Proven Organizational skills
- Demonstrate ability to use data to understand and analyse complex business problems
- Effectively communicate financial information to non-financial business partners
- Ability to work with multiple departments and various levels of management
Tasks include being able to work at a computer for majority of the day and the ability to express ideas via written and spoken words.
