The Team Loan Officer assists a designated Loan Officer(s) in originating and processing loans.
Duties include:
- Completing a quality, initial loan application and all applicable checklists.
- Requesting required documents, including follow up if needed.
- Calculating income in order to validate data.
- Running AUS and reviewing findings.
- Securing a locked interest rate as quoted to the client.
- Preparing and sending prequalification letters.
- Preparing the initial disclosure package.
- Reviewing and preparing loan documents for submission to Processing.
- Primary point of contact for phone calls.
- Managing the CRM, including follow-ups with warm leads and closed loans.
- Pipeline management, including scheduled pipeline reviews, daily tracking and weekly status calls to customers.
- Addressing any resulting issues during the process that potentially jeopardize the loan approval.
- Utilization of designated Sales tools and reporting methods.
- 4+ years of mortgage experience, including all areas of the loan process, as well as thorough knowledge of FHA, Conventional, VA and USDA product financing.
- Experience working with a builder’s mortgage company, builder JV, or as a preferred lender with a home builder - strongly preferred.
- High School diploma or equivalent;
Bachelor’s degree is a plus - NMLS License required (TX)
- Strong sales aptitude with a proven ability to guide borrowers through loan program options
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a diversity of audiences.
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability and conflict resolution skills.
- Must have attention to detail and customer service focus.
- Ability to adhere to established processes and checklists.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fluid and rapidly changing environment.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with strict time requirements.
- Proficient with MS Office, with a knowledge of industry automation and software.
- High level of integrity, ethics, discretion and professionalism in handling confidential and sensitive information.
