We are seeking a Senior Accountant with 3-5 years of public accounting (with CPA or in progress) to join our growing team! This role will have the potential for promotional opportunities and will work closely with our Controller.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of ledger accounts and financial statements.
  • Responsible for the preparation of GAAP financial statements and other financial reports.
  • Reports the organization’s finances to management, evaluates and makes appropriate improvements to internal accounting processes ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the organization.
  • Researches and analyzes accounting transactions.
  • Analyzes trends, costs and revenues.
  • Reconciles business line of credit account balances, interest costs and variable interest rates.
  • Responsible for the accurate creation and timely submission of various banking, federal, and regulatory statistical reports.
  • Oversee and assist with commercial finance transactions and reporting.
  • Oversee financial reporting related to credit insurance and offshore captive.
  • Oversee and assist with the creation and delivery state, county and muni tax reporting.
  • Engages in special projects and other tasks as needed or required.
Requirements
  • BS in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in the field of public or mid-sized company accounting doing full cycle month-end close, intermediate financial reporting and bank reconciliations.
  • CPA designation or CPA candidate is preferred.
  • Previous finance company accounting, tax accounting and/or insurance industry experience is a plus.
  • Has thorough knowledge of financial accounting and GAAP concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Possesses strong analytical skills and a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
  • Ability to make sound, independent judgments within established guidelines.
  • Ability to organize own work, set priorities and meet critical deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability and desire to work with others in a cooperative, positive and constructive manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products, including Excel and Access.
  • SQL is a plus.
  • Experience with MS Dynamics General Ledger a plus.
