Business Manager – Auto Strategy
The Capital One Auto Strategy team plays a critical role in redefining the automotive financing industry by merging customer‑first digital innovation with robust data analytics. This highly analytical group collaborates across functions to design, test, and execute forward‑thinking business models that directly drive the evolution of flagship platforms such as Auto Navigator and Dealer Navigator, ensuring a seamless, transparent experience for both car buyers and dealerships.
Responsibilities- Strategic leadership: develop business strategies that will drive growth, profitability, and competitive success for Capital One in response to shifting consumer and regulatory demands.
- Leadership: manage and develop 1‑2 analysts; coach and mentor associates to develop and retain talent.
- Product: develop and implement new product and pricing strategies for lending products; lead product‑level modeling and analytics.
- Marketing: lead direct‑to‑consumer marketing efforts for select products and inform the design of new customer experiences and breakthrough technologies.
- Credit risk: drive step‑change improvements in credit performance by connecting drivers of future consumer credit trends to historical behavior, creating risk models, and testing hypotheses through rigorous monitoring and analysis.
- Execution: manage and sequence delivery of business intent, build business requirements, and execute against the product strategy.
- Partnership: collaborate with colleagues across Capital One—including IT, Sales, Operations, Finance and others—to improve quality, volume, service, and profitability.
- Strategic & analytic orientation: apply a proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics, with strong quantitative orientation and conceptual thinking skills.
- Leadership & communication: bring a tenacious decision‑making approach, foster innovation, drive critical decisions, hold partners accountable, and consistently deliver results.
- Results orientation: focus on achieving short‑ and long‑term goals in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial and dynamic environment.
- At least 3 years of professional experience performing analysis.
- Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s, Master’s degree, or an MBA with a quantitative concentration in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering).
- Master’s degree in Business or a quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, or Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in analysis.
- 2+ years of experience in financial services.
- 1+ year of experience in consulting.
- 2+ years of experience in people management.
Plano, TX salary range: $149,800 – $171,000 annually. This role may also earn performance‑based incentive compensation, including cash bonuses and/or long‑term incentives. Capital One offers a comprehensive set of health, financial, and other benefits that support total well‑being.
