Department SummaryUniversity Integrity and Compliance supports the University of North Texas’s commitment to ethical, lawful, and transparent operations by administering a risk-based compliance and ethics program. The department provides guidance, training, monitoring, and reporting mechanisms to help ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, Regents’ Rules, and university policies, while partnering with campus and system stakeholders to promote a culture of integrity, accountability, and responsible decision‑making across the institution.
Position OverviewThis position manages the University policy program. It includes daily management and process reviews of the University Policy Manual (UPM) website and the System policy repository. Daily tasks involve conducting end‑to‑end policy reviews according to the 6‑year policy review cycle, triaging policy issues, maintaining processes, and assisting with setting the strategic direction of the policy program under the direction of the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO).
The position collaborates with the University community on various policy matters, including establishing and maintaining relationships with various UNT offices, providing education and assistance as needed, benchmarking with outside organizations, and guiding on emerging policy trends.
Bachelor’s degree in public policy, business administration, communications, or a related field, and five years of professional policy development, management, or coordination, or equivalent experience.

- Ability to deliver information effectively in a variety of settings including one‑on‑one, team settings, presentations, and various written forms such as letters, memos, analytical reports, and decision documents;
- Ability to research, evaluate and analyze complex or conflicting data/information, develop valid conclusions and recommendations, and prepare clear and concise written reports on complex subject matter;
- Ability to analyze complex data and prepare concise reports;
- Ability to learn and use multiple software platforms;
- Proficiency with Windows‑based email and other standard office applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, project and policy management software, and similar programs.
- Direct experience managing a policy program including policy and training development, and procedure documentation designed for end users.
- Technical writing experience.
- Legal experience.
- Serves as the key contact for UNT policies and the policy revision and development process.
- Collaborates daily with policy owners and stakeholders to assess policy needs, including guiding policies through their revision life cycle and proposing new policies when needed, including benchmarking and research.
- Assists policy owners in reviewing policies to ensure that they comply with University standards and avoid conflicts or duplication.
- Coordinates the policy review and approval process with the Policy Advisory Group (PAG), the Office of General Counsel, the President’s Office, and others.
- Daily management of multiple software programs used in the policy review and tracking processes.
- Develops systems to track policy review statuses and communicate progress.
- Ensures consistent style, structure, and documentation of policy changes.
- Organizes cyclical reviews of UPM policies.
- Maintains a historical database of current and former policies, which includes management of several software programs.
