City of Murphy Police Department seeks to add a Certified Police Officer to its dynamic team! As our Police Officer, you will provides crime prevention and law enforcement services for the City through proactive patrol, preliminary investigations, and traffic control duties in a designated area or assignment during duty hours.

• Patrols a specific beat to promote public safety and enhance the quality of life in assigned area
• Promotes a positive image in performing community‑policing duties (community meetings, problem solving resources, etc.)
• Conducts crime analysis and coordination with other shifts and divisions, such as CID
• Regularly reviews crime trends as indicated on the PD’s call tracking software, such as Crime Reports, and develops tactics and programs to respond to identified trends and hot spots
• Responds to calls for police service (disturbances, burglaries, prowlers, suspicious persons, etc.) and takes necessary action
