Full time (Monday - Friday, day shift), no nights, no on‑call, no weekends, no holidays

Seeking a Charge Entry Specialist for our practice that will compile charge/billing information, assists in coding and enters charges into the practice management system.

What you will do in this role:
  • Receives and reviews charge documents for accuracy and enters charges into practice management system. Balances Charge Summary to tickets keyed before updating charges
  • Works with A/R and payers on denials/rejections.
  • Extracts information from medical records, operative notes, hospital admissions, consults, progress notes and discharges.
  • Coordinates with front office staff on payment/billing issues.
  • Identifies quality issues with registration and scheduling activities.
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Must read and understand and adhere to all Physician Services policies and procedures
  • Practice and adhere to the Code of Conduct philosophy and Mission and Value Statement.
  • Practices certified as Patient Center Medical Home include these additional job duties:
  • Coordinates continuity of patient care with external healthcare organizations and facilities and referrals from the primary care provider to a specialty care provider.
  • Participates on a team for data collection, health outcomes reporting, audits and programmatic evaluation related to Patient Centered Medical Home.

EXPERIENCE:

  • One to two years of coding, billing and charge entry experience in the health care field is required.
