Clinical Concierge MA/LVN – Plano
Location:
5964 W. Parker rd., Suite 100, Plano, Texas 75093 (This position will float across multiple Texas Health Urgent Care Locations)
Works hours:
Full-Time, 3-12-hour shifts a week, 7:45 AM - 8:15 PM
- H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Required
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant education program and Certified or Registered Medical Assistant Required, or successful completion of a Vocational Nurse program Required
- 6 months of previous health care facility clinical experience as a LVN, MA, CNA, or other patient care experience, or completion of an internal THR MA externship training program in lieu of experience Required
- Previous experience with electronic health record preferred
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant in lieu of the completion of a Medical Assistant education program required, or LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse State of Texas, if LVN Upon Hire Required
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support (maintained every 2 years and required prior to providing independent patient care) within 30 days of hire Required
- THR Urine Drug Collector training (Maintained every 5 years and required prior to providing independent care) within 30 days of hire Required
The Concierge guides consumers and their secondary guests through the urgent care visit to enhance the consumer experience by maximizing throughput and delivering clinical excellence. Responsibilities include assisting the provider with care and treatment, laboratory testing, patient registration, collection of payments, rooming, and patient discharge. All Concierges maintain competency and perform in all assigned positions on a rotating basis. This role is a vital part of the urgent care team and works under the direction of the Site Manager while collaborating with the provider and other clinical staff.
Must demonstrate discretion, good judgment, diplomacy, decision-making, and a customer service attitude.
- Collects identification and payor-related documentation and conducts registration using EPIC workflow
- Measures and documents vitals and communicates results to the consumer and provider (temperature, pulse, oxygen saturation, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and pain level)
- Documents chief complaint, allergies, health history, and current medications accurately in EPIC for provider review
- Performs and documents laboratory testing and collections per provider orders and/or standard operating procedures, including venipuncture with competency
- Administers and documents oral and intramuscular medications using the appropriate workflow
- Assists provider with procedures (e.g., maintaining sterile field, laceration repair, I&D, ortho-goods application)
- Maintains professionalism and empathy to build trust and positive patient experiences
- Welcomes the consumer and secondary guest to the center, greets and inquires about visit purpose
- Recognizes and notifies provider of emergent patients, performs BLS, provides oxygen, and assists with emergency care
- Schedules primary care referrals for consumers
- Maintains office and medical supplies at appropriate par levels
- Performs quality checks throughout the facility per policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
