The Milieu Therapist is a licensed therapist who facilitates skills groups and psychotherapy groups based on core curriculum, provides meal monitoring and meal support, and offers milieu support, de‑escalation and behavior coaching to patients in inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient levels of care.

• Provides meal monitoring and support.
• Documentation of groups, meals, and patient check‑ins and observations.
• Provides support to Milieu including the following.
• De‑escalation and crisis management.
• Bathroom monitoring and support for eating disorder patients.
• Monitoring outside breaks.
• Conducts self‑harm and suicide assessment.
• Support morning routine in IP/Res programs.
• Collects and reports weights, vitals, and urine in some settings.
• Implements individual behavior management plans for some patients and serves as clinical lead for the program in standalone programs in evenings and weekends; will lead some psychotherapy groups.
• Coverage for Primary Therapists (for individual, family and group therapies as well as for patient assessments) with support from Clinical Manager or Clinical Director.

• Intern or associate license from appropriate state licensing board- required
• Strong knowledge of therapeutic principles and techniques- required
• Ability to manage group dynamics effectively
• Proficient in keeping timely, detailed and accurate records- required
• Demonstrated ability to handle crisis situations effectively- required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
