We’re looking for CVOR/Surgical Technicians for an immediate travel tech opening in Plano, TX. The right candidate should have 2 years’ recent acute care experience.
Responsibilities- Assist the surgical team during operative procedures by arranging and inventorying sterile set‑up for cardiac operations and passing items to doctors and nurses as needed.
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide assistance during surgical procedures performed in the department.
- Maintain aseptic technique: setting up required equipment and sterile supplies, pulling cases, and breaking down cases at the end of the procedure.
- Be knowledgeable regarding instrumentation, equipment, and supply needs for all types of surgical procedures.
- Perform delegated duties consistent with scope of practice and overall plan of care delivery.
- Assist with moving and positioning of patient.
- Clean and bandage wounds.
- Confirm procedure with patient.
- Maintain supplies and medical equipment.
- Meet technical skills as outlined in checklist.
- BLS certification.
- NBSTSA certification.
- Minimum 1 year of experience (preferably 2 years recent acute care).
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, stoop, and lift up to 20 pounds routinely; capable of lifting up to 50 pounds when required.
- Good stress coping skills and ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.
- Travel CVOR Technologist must be licensed to travel and available for immediate assignment.
All CVOR/Surgical Technicians are required to hold the NBSTSA Certification in order to be eligible for employment with TNAA. Travel CVOR Technicians should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean and stoop without difficulty. Techs should be able to easily lift 20 pounds. Moving or lifting of patients may require lifting of up to 50 pounds ause of the fast‑paced environment, techs must possess good skills for coping with stress and be able to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.
Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
