About the RoleUnder the direction of the Business Office Manager, the Scheduler is responsible for daily maintenance of the surgery schedule, managing all aspects of the scheduling process, strategizing and problem solving, and ensuring high levels of customer service with scheduling coordinators from all doctors’ offices and Operating Room staff. Schedulers will perform benefits verification and provide patient estimates.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain daily surgery schedule and all scheduling processes.
- Strategize and problem‑solve scheduling challenges.
- Collaborate with scheduling coordinators and OR staff to deliver customer service.
- Verify benefits and provide patient cost estimates.
- Diffuse difficult scheduling conflicts efficiently with strategy.
- Minimum of 2 years hospital or medical office experience preferred.
- High school diploma or GED.
- One (1) year previous surgery scheduling experience in a hospital or clinical environment preferred.
- Insurance verification experience preferred.
- Must be able to communicate verbally and non-verbally in a professional way.
- Ability to use time wisely in preparing work area to meet high‑paced demand.
- Show a genuine desire to work and improve the hospital as a whole.
