5964 W. Parker Rd., Suite 100, Plano, Texas 75093 (This position will float across multiple Texas Health Urgent Care locations)

Works hours:
Full-Time, 3‑12‑hour shifts a week (rotating days, weekends and holidays), 7:45 AM - 8:15 PM

Requirements
  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
  • Completion of approved NCT training program
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant education program or other successful completion of a vocational nurse program
  • 6 months previous health care facility clinical experience as a LVN, MA, CNA, or other patient care
  • 6 months previous x‑ray experience or completion of an internal THR NCT training program in lieu of experience
  • 6 months previous experience as licensed NCT (preferred)
  • Previous experience with electronic health record, straight‑arm x‑ray and orthopedic experience (preferred)
  • NCT (Non‑Certified Radiology Technician) registered by the Texas Medical Board upon hire
  • LVN – Licensed Vocational Nurse State of Texas, if LVN upon hire (required)
  • Other certified or registered Medical Assistant in lieu of the completion of a Medical Assistant education program (required)
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support (maintained every 2 years and required prior to providing independent patient care) within 30 days of hire
  • THR Urine Drug Collector training (maintained every 5 years and required prior to providing independent care) within 30 days of hire
Responsibilities
  • Collects identification and payor related documentation, conducts registration using EPIC workflow.
  • Measures and documents vitals and communicates the resulting data to the consumer and provider, including temperature, pulse, oxygen saturation, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and pain level.
  • Documents chief complaint, allergies, health history, and current medications accurately in EPIC for review by provider.
  • Performs and documents laboratory testing and collections per provider orders and/or standard operating procedures, including venipuncture with prior venipuncture competency check‑off.
  • Administers and documents oral and intramuscular medication using the appropriate medication verification workflow. If a medical assistant, may perform injections with the appropriate competency check‑off.
  • Assists provider with procedures such as maintaining sterile field, laceration repair, I&D, and application of ortho‑goods and assists with ortho‑glass application.
  • Performs diagnostic x‑rays and documents completion of radiology examinations within the licensed scope of practice as ordered and verified by the provider. Performs x‑rays following established protocols and utilizes appropriate exposure factors for care and safety. Ensures images and applicable communication are transferred to radiology group for overread and assures all images have a report on file in the medical record.
  • Behaves in a professional and empathetic manner to build trust, comfort, understanding, and relationships with consumers and secondary guests in‑line with patient experience standards.
  • Welcomes the consumer and secondary guests to the center (including eye contact, smile, greeting, and personal introduction) and inquires about the purpose and nature of the visit.
  • Recognizes and notifies provider immediately of emergent patients, performs BLS, provides oxygen administration, and assists provider with emergency care.
  • Schedules primary care referrals for consumers.
  • Maintains office supplies, medical supplies, and medications at appropriate par levels as assigned.
  • Performs quality checks throughout the facility per established policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
