US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Medical Assistant to join our team at Heart Place located in Plano, TX.

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height and records information in patients’ charts.
• Work with the medical assistant tech to ensure patients are roomed in a timely manner.
• Operate electrocardiograph (EKG), treadmill, and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test.
• Fill out testing orders per physician.
• Send out prescriptions per physician orders.
• Order and explain testing to the patient.
• Give injections or treatments and perform routine laboratory tests.
• Set up procedures with hospitals to include filling out hospital form and faxing them back.
• Review procedure and instructions with the patient.
• Escort patients to check-out.
• Check voicemails & enter messages into eCW.
• Return patient calls/tasks, even if only to acknowledge receipt of the voicemail, and that an answer is being sought.
• Ensure that charts have been checked and the proper paperwork is included.
• Travel required. Prepare bag for travel to satellite clinics.
• Safeguard the privacy of patient health information.
• Other related duties as assigned.

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Cardiac Experience preferred but not required.
• Knowledge in medical terminology.
