Job Title & Specialty Area: END Technologist

Department: Neurophys

Location: Hosp-Plano

Shift: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm

Job Type: On-Site

Summary

This position independently performs advanced neurodiagnostic procedures, including EEG and Long Term Video EEG monitoring in all settings (ACS, ED, critical care, neonatal ICU). The technologist interacts with patients, families, and the healthcare team, using independent judgment and technical troubleshooting to provide safe, high‑quality recordings tailored to each patient’s needs.

Responsibilities
  • Execute all aspects of EEG with ACNS guideline compliance and departmental workflow.
  • Perform routine and continuous EEG techniques across all age groups with minimal supervision.
  • Orient new EEG team members to department workflows during onboarding.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members on challenging technical issues.
  • Interpret patient history and clinical symptoms to adjust EEG protocols and settings.
  • Maintain quality, timeliness, and effectiveness of the team’s work.
  • Explain complex technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Learn and perform additional neurodiagnostic procedures as assigned (e.g., Evoked Potentials, NCV, Long‑Term EEG Monitoring).
Work Experience
  • At least 3 years as an EEG Technologist (preferred).
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Two‑year Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in Neurodiagnostic Technology (preferred).
Licenses and Certifications
  • Current Registry in EEG (R.EEG‑T.) by ABRET (required upon hire).
  • Current Registry in Evoked Potentials (R.EP‑T.) (preferred).
  • Current Registry or Eligibility for Nerve Conduction Study (preferred).
  • Current Registry by the Board of Polysomnographic Technologists (RPSGT) (preferred).
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (required upon hire).
