Role Overview
Provides primary and specialty healthcare services in a correctional setting, including patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, and referrals. Acts as a clinical resource and role model, overseeing practitioner and student performance to ensure high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Performs clinical duties such as taking histories, conducting exams, ordering tests, and developing care plans.
- Collaborates with physicians, educates patients and families, and promotes interdisciplinary teamwork.
- Contributes to process improvements and supports department goals while delivering excellent customer service.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant healthcare fields, with at least 2 years of clinical experience.
- Must hold current licensure and certifications appropriate to the role (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner), including BLS and state-specific licenses.
- Demonstrates leadership, strong communication, and patient-centered care skills.
