About Our ClientAddison Group is hiring for our client, an established outpatient medical practice in Plano, TX, seeking a Medical Assistant to provide both clinical and administrative support to its providers and patients.
This position is a great opportunity for an MA who enjoys direct patient interaction, can adapt to changing schedules and priorities, and is comfortable balancing clinical responsibilities with front-office support.
Job DescriptionThe Medical Assistant will help support daily patient flow by preparing patients for appointments, obtaining vitals, reviewing charts, and assisting with scheduling needs. The ideal candidate is dependable, adaptable, and able to communicate effectively with both patients and providers in a busy medical office.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and room patients for scheduled appointments
- Obtain and accurately document patient vital signs
- Review and prepare charts prior to provider visits
- Assist providers with maintaining an organized and efficient patient flow
- Answer incoming calls and respond to routine patient needs
- Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments as necessary
- Communicate scheduling changes professionally and compassionately
- Help manage patient expectations when appointments or provider schedules change
- Maintain accurate patient information and documentation
- Provide additional clinical and administrative support as needed
- 6+ months of Medical Assistant experience required; 2–3 years preferred
- Medical Assistant certification is preferred
- Candidates who are not currently certified must be willing and able to obtain certification within the required timeframe for consideration for permanent employment
- Previous OB/GYN or women’s health experience is highly preferred
- Comfortable performing both clinical and administrative MA responsibilities
- Strong patient service and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a busy physician practice
- Reliable attendance and professional demeanor
