The Scheduling Coordinator coordinates scheduling for patients. This includes tests, procedures, and consults as needed by protocol or clinical need.
Essential Functions OfThe Role
- Schedule and coordinate multiple appointments, procedures, and tests for patients.
- Contact patient before and after appointment is scheduled to confirm date and times.
- Make changes to patient's schedule as needed (i.e. cancellation and rescheduling).
- Establish, maintain, and update patient's chart for visit and send patient information to appropriate physician offices for appointments, as requested.
- Input patient appointments and information in appropriate databases.
- Medicare Cost Report data entry.
- Prepare a wide variety of word processing tasks for correspondence to patients and department data (Word and Excel).
- Gather patient clinical data from outside offices as needed for chart, appointments, and patient follow-up.
- Chart incoming patient information and distribute to coordinators and physicians.
- Assist in clinics with posting labs and scheduling appointments as needed.
- Maintain office supplies for appropriate area.
- Manages front desk operations
- Must demonstrate exceptional communication skills by conveying necessary information accurately, listening effectively and asking questions where clarification is needed.
- Ability to operate computer, fax, copier, scanner, and telephone.
- Must be able to multitask.
- Ability to follow instructions and respond to upper management's directions accurately.
- Must be able to work autonomously, prioritize work activities and use time efficiently.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
- Must be able to demonstrate and promote a positive team-oriented environment.
- Must be able to stay focused and concentrate under normal or heavy distractions.

Qualifications- EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent
- EXPERIENCE - 2 Years of Experience
