Interventional Radiology Technologist

Location:

Plano, TX

Assignment: 13-Week Contract

Pay: $87.00/hour

Schedule:

4×10-hour shifts with rotating day off

Shift: 7:00 AM–5:30 PM

Department:

On-Call Requirement

Weekday call: 5:30 PM–7:00 AM

Weekend call: 7:00 AM–7:00 AM

Approximately 10 call shifts per month

Position Overview

Corner Stone Medical is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13‑week contract assignment in Plano, TX. The Interventional Radiology Technologist performs high-quality diagnostic and interventional imaging procedures for ambulatory and hospital patients under the general supervision of a Radiologist. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and experience working in a fast‑paced IR environment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience and demonstrated experience scrubbing Neuro IR cases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality interventional radiology procedures according to established protocols.
  • Prepare patients and procedure areas for IR procedures.
  • Position patients and adjust immobilization devices as necessary.
  • Set up and operate imaging equipment while following established exposure protocols.
  • Assist with invasive and multimodality interventional procedures.
  • Scrub Neuro IR cases and maintain appropriate sterile technique.
  • Prepare and maintain sterile fields for procedures.
  • Communicate with patients and families regarding procedures and provide reassurance throughout the process.
  • Verify patient identity, procedure orders, medical history, pregnancy status, consent, and other required documentation.
  • Monitor patients throughout procedures and assess their ability to tolerate the examination.
  • Follow infection‑control, medication, drug, radiation, and patient‑safety policies.
  • Maintain strict hand hygiene and sterile technique during invasive procedures.
  • Ensure equipment and work areas meet quality, safety, and cleanliness standards.
  • Identify and report equipment issues to management or the appropriate department.
  • Work with engineers and physicists as needed to maintain optimal equipment performance.
  • Assist with maintaining appropriate inventory of IR supplies.
  • Screen patients and individuals entering the department according to established safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate imaging records in the appropriate electronic system.
  • Ensure documentation is complete and available for timely interpretation and review.
  • Utilize AIDET principles when interacting with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience.
  • ARRT certification.
  • VI certification.
  • Texas MRT certification.
  • BLS – AHA only.
  • Demonstrated experience scrubbing Neuro IR cases.
