AboutThe Role
The Receptionist is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support to the Legacy at Home team. This position facilitates the communications functions of the business office.
Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesThe following duties are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Promotes the philosophy, mission and administrative policy of the Hospice line of business by presenting a positive image.
- Facilitates the communications system which may include mail distribution, phone system, memos, answering incoming calls and/or emails, documents, and disseminates appropriate messages.
- Provides clerical support which may include preparation of admission, orientation, and new hire packets; monitoring and ordering office supplies and forms; computer support and data entry; special projects, filing and copying.
- Competently handle multi-line phone systems. Demonstrates understanding of systems features.
- Uses effective customer service skills when directing calls and assisting others.
- Promotes effective communication with patients, families, team members and other healthcare professionals, and maintains confidentiality.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Some college preferred.
- One year general office experience
- Excellent computer skills required, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Excellent phone skills.
