The City of Murphy's Fire Rescue Department seeks to add a Firefighter/Paramedic to its professional and dynamic team. As our Firefighter/Paramedic, you will provide fire suppression, emergency medical services, rescue services, fire prevention, public education, and other emergency and non-emergency services to the residents and visitors of the City of Murphy. Murphy Firefighter/Paramedics are expected to maintain a high level of readiness, professionalism, physical fitness, and technical proficiency while working as part of a highly trained emergency response team.

Schedule Commitment:
Must be willing to work a 48-hour shift schedule and accept call-back, mandatory overtime, and other schedule adjustments as required. Firefighter/Paramedics must be available to work weekends, holidays, and other hours outside of their regularly scheduled shift as operational needs dictate.

Examples of Duties:

• Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls for service
• Performs fire suppression and rescue operations
• Provides advanced emergency medical care as a Paramedic
• Responds to medical emergencies, motor vehicle crashes, fires, hazardous materials incidents, technical rescues, and other emergency situations
• Operates fire apparatus, ambulances, rescue vehicles, and other emergency equipment as assigned
• Performs vehicle extrication and technical rescue operations
• Conducts fire prevention activities and public education programs
• Performs fire inspections and assists with fire prevention activities as assigned
• Participates in pre-incident planning and familiarization activities
• Performs daily apparatus, equipment, station, and inventory checks
• Maintains a high level of physical fitness and operational readiness
