About this opportunity

The Global Mobility Manager – Americas is a member of Ericsson’s small global team of Global Mobility subject matter experts. This hybrid role, based in Plano, Texas, carries primary responsibility for regional governance, oversight, and risk management of global mobility activities across the Americas, with particular focus on the US and Canada. Serving as the senior regional authority and escalation point, this position ensures the consistent, compliant, and risk‑aware application of Ericsson’s global mobility policies — bridging local execution teams with the global governance structure and acting as a key point of contact for senior stakeholder relationships across the region.

What

you will do
  • Provide regional governance and oversight for global mobility activities across the Americas, with emphasis on the US and Canada.
  • Ensure consistent and compliant application of global mobility policies aligned with Ericsson’s global standards.
  • Serve as the regional escalation point for complex, high‑risk, or non‑standard mobility cases, offering expert guidance and decision support.
  • Oversee mobility‑related compliance and risk — including tax, immigration, employment law, and social security — in partnership with internal and external advisors.
  • Act as a trusted regional advisor to HR, People leaders, and the business, connecting stakeholders to the Head of Global Mobility as needed.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior executives and key stakeholders, ensuring mobility solutions support business and talent priorities.
  • Monitor regulatory and market developments across the Americas and proactively recommend policy and process adjustments.
  • Support the design and continuous improvement of global mobility frameworks, tools, and ways of working.
  • Champion the use of data, analytics, and AI to enhance the effectiveness and scalability of global mobility programs.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and capability building across HR and the broader business on global mobility topics.
The skills you bring
  • Deep subject matter expertise in global mobility, including international assignments, permanent transfers, business travel, commuter arrangements, and hybrid mobility patterns.
  • Solid working knowledge of tax, immigration, social security, and employment considerations for cross‑border moves in the Americas, especially the US and Canada.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess risk, interpret complex regulations, and provide pragmatic recommendations that balance compliance, cost, and business needs.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex mobility concepts clearly to non‑specialist audiences.
  • Experience applying technology, data, and AI to streamline processes and improve the experience for employees and managers.
  • High level of integrity, sound judgment, and discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Collaborative approach, comfortable working in a global, matrixed environment across functions, geographies, and cultures.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Global Mobility‑focused role, preferably within a large, multinational organization.
  • Familiarity with global mobility technology platforms, data analytics, and AI‑enabled tools is strongly preferred.
