Job Summary
The HR Business Relations Partner serves as a strategic HR partner to Lending and Retail Community Bank leadership in the DFW and Central Texas regions. Supports all functional areas of Human Resources including Recruitment, Employee Relations, Performance Management, Compensation, and Benefits. Provides counsel on HR policies, compliance, and employment law. Requires minimum travel to Central Texas for at least one week per quarter.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership, counsel, and support to managers on policy interpretation and employee relations matters such as hiring, onboarding, performance management, terminations, and general employee relations.
- Build relationships with HR Functional Managers to serve as an HR resource for managers across business lines.
- Administer HR plans and procedures, develop and implement personnel policies, and revise the Employee Handbook as needed.
- Conduct objective investigations into employment matters and complaints.
- Deliver HR, payroll, and benefits information and training to assigned regions.
- Partner in recruitment, interviewing, and hiring to ensure best fit; participate in screening, interview process, and offer letter preparation.
- Respond to unemployment claims with supporting documentation.
- Monitor employee climate, counsel managers on issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in staff meetings, departmental goals, projects, and data/metrics evaluation.
- Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures for continuous improvement.
- Maintain compliance with federal and state employment regulations.
- Dress professionally and adhere to company policies.
- Complete required compliance exams annually.
- Perform any related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of Human Resources experience.
- Preference for one or more of the following certifications: PHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP/M.
- Banking experience preferred.
- Knowledge of personnel administration principles and employment laws (Title VII, FMLA, FCA, FLSA, ADA, ERISA, HIPAA).
- Strong leadership, ethical judgment, confidentiality, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems.
- Problem‑solving, decision‑making, and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal communication abilities.
- Dependable, initiative‑driven, and follow‑through on projects.
